South Carolina

South Carolina wins it's second consecutive NIT Tournament. Congratulations to them, but how positive can that really be? Don't get me wrong, UW getting slapped around by Arizona in the 1st Round of the NCAA Tournament was sickening to me, but I will always take an NCAA Tournament appearance over any NIT accomplishment. I searched ESPN's college bball section and found no mention of USC's (yes, the other USC) victory. Although the NCAA recently purchased the NIT, if you're playing in the NIT anytime after their pre-season tournament, it is likely a disappointment. Then again, during the the Dick Bennett era UW's appearance in the NIT was exciting, so I suppose its all relative. But relatively speaking, I no longer give a fuck about the NIT and if it I ever do again, it is a sad year for UW. What a bastard I am.

Charlie Bell

The Bucks with a ridiculous display of 3-pt. shooting last night in a 132-110 victory over the suddenly struggling Suns. There are many storylines from this game, from Amare Stoudamire being declared out for an indefinite amount of time, to the return of the dubious Tim Thomas to the Bradley Center. I was always a fan of Tim more than others and he certainly was a good pickup for Phoenix at merely $200,000. But most Bucks fans will never get over his lackluster performance in Milwaukee, particularly when $67 million is attached to his uninspiring 12 and 5 averages.

More importantly however, was the game Charlie Bell had. Amazingly the first Bucks triple double since Sam Cassell did it in 2003, Bell finished the game with 19 pts., 10 rebs., 13. assists. While it is way too early in the Charlie Bell era to annoint him the starter, one has to wonder how Stotts will handle the rotation once TJ Ford returns from injury. TJ may be the future, but as the Bucks look to secure a playoff spot that won't get them bounced from the playoffs 4-5 games into the 1st round, TJ's development may have to take a back seat. While Bell has played SG at times, backing up Michael Redd, the past few games have shown that he's at his most effective running the team at PG.

Do or Die

Copped that new Do or Die album today, "Get That Paper." The artwork harkens back to some mid-90's Geto Boys, a la "Resurrection," for whatever that's worth. Well, maybe just the font, but another Rap-A-Lot record anyway. Too early to tell, but the early feeling is that the last album, "D.O.D." was stronger, though maybe a departure from their earlier material.
