This is an interesting idea, but clearly these guys haven't seen all of the show, thus while they may know the streets, they don't actually know the characters. Bunk on the take...that would be shocking and not really make any sense.

For some reason that 'Freakanomics' book was on the bestseller list for like 48489 weeks. I read it, its average at best but the chapter that he talks about the Chicago gangs is relatively interesting. If these 'thugs' really had any credibility I don't think they'd let Steven Levitt or Stephen Dubner interview them. Real thugs don't get HBO. I suspect if you really met these guys they would have about as much street cred as K-fed. And who puts a guap on television show bets?
